When you vote, consider:
1. Are your taxes protecting your freedoms, property and ability to increase wealth
or is your government expanding power over you and other regions of the world?
The Roman Republic became an empire, expanding its influence, disseminating the
Roman System to other cultures. The British Empire followed similar courses. Not
seeking territorial claims, The American government nevertheless possesses 725
military bases in over a hundred countries ostensibly "to make the world
safe for democracy."
2. Is prosperity increasing or decreasing?
To centralize power, Rome spent money and devalued currency, increasing government
through public works and military adventures. The empire collapsed because of
extensive regulations on commerce and overextended expansion. The British with
other empires fell victim to similar patterns. What is happening with America?
3. Will military solutions destroy terrorism?
Terrorists wish to succeed against the vastness of American military might merely
by employing guerilla attacks to encourage civil disorder. Authority reacts to
their cause suppressing with restrictions on liberties. The population becomes
politicized. The social fabric crumbles. Are hearts and minds won employing repressive
measures?
4. Have interventionist policies been responsible for spawning enemies and wars?
Sadam Hussein and bin Laden have both been previously subsidized to further government
interests.
5. Have the controlling Republican and Democrats succeeded managing the economy
and foreign affairs?
America has endured two world wars, many smaller wars, unstable economy and depression
under their management.
Consider
encouraging freedom, not governmental intervention and expansion.
